Johns Family Podcast

Matty Johns and his family have a podcast, beamed out to listeners from a spare bedroom their family home. Our challenge was to transform this tiny room into a functional studio set complete with 70s lounge vibes.

We created a laid-back Aussie oasis by designing a set that combined the unique elements of 70s Tiki style with touches of Australiana from Cessnock and Newcastle’s beach culture.

The functional layout was designed to maximise space, offering comfortable seating for four guests and accommodating two cameras and a dedicated producer’s desk.

Clear access to the doorway ensures smooth transitions and fosters a relaxed atmosphere for guests on the show.

Installation of a rail on the southern wall to mount cameras on flexible arms, allows for various camera positions and framing options.
